This morning I returned to the Olive Pink Botanical Gardens to see if I could get some better photos of the Western Bowerbird at his bower along with some other birds in the area. It turned out to be quite a productive morning except for with the bowerbird. The above shot was actually taken yesterday afternoon but I didn't download yesterday's images until today so I figured I would post it now. I did have a good morning with other species though. Iwas able to get a few quick frames of a Red-browed Pardalote as well as a few frames of a party of Gray-crowned Babblers. The pardalote completed my collection of pardalote images and the babbler did the same for the Australian representatives of the family.
From there I headed over to the Desert Park which turned out to be quite a fantastic park. If you are ever in Alice Springs, this park is a must. It allows a close up view of the major habitats of the region and provides some great views of many local birds in a bunch of aviaries. The free audio tour and numerous informative signs give the visitor a lot of information on the region. All in all, I spent several hours wandering the park and was quite impressed and would like to congratulate whoever is in charge of it.
