Once again, sunrise found me at Uluru with the hopes of getting an image with Uluru in the foreground and Kata Tjuta in the distant background. I was all set up and waiting for the sun to breach the horizon when to my great frustration, a car pulled up and into my frame in front of me. It was perfectly fine for them to be there but if they had arrived about 90 seconds later, I would have gotten the image I was after. Instead, I got the image with a car parked in the corner. Not exactly what I was after. I really let it get to me and instead of allowing myself to be bitter and frustrated all morning, I headed back to the resort for a break and to try to regroup.
By midafternoon, I was ready to tackle the last thing I wanted to do in the park, the Valley of the Winds Walk out at Kata Tjuta. I headed that way and spent the evening on the stunningly beautiful walk through the Valley of the Winds. I timed it nicely and had most of the walk to myself and was able to explore at a leisurely pace. Like the Base Walk at Uluru, the Valley of the Winds offers a different perspective on an iconic landscape. I thoroughly enjoyed this, probably even more than the Base Walk and it was the perfect way to end my time here.
