Broad-billed Flycatcher - South Alligator River, Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory

I awoke to a heavily overcast sky but headed up the escarpment anyway. I picked out a nice comfortable rock and began the vigil to hopefully hear and then see the White-throated Grasswren. Unfortunately, the wind made it pretty much impossible to hear anything, especially as high pitched as a grasswren. By about 10:00, it started to rain very lightly and Idecided to head back down. Between the wind and the rain, it just wasn't worth it.

Pretty much the rest of the day was spent sheltering from the cold wind and rain. It resulted in a relaxing day of reading and napping so Ireally am not complaining. I would have liked to see the grasswren but it isn't the end of the world by any means.
