Australian Kestrel - Mangrove Bay, Cape Range National Park, Western Australia

I have been in a bit of a funk today and have struggled to get out of it. Some of may have to do with the train that kept going by my campsite in the middle of the night last night. In any event, I got into Karijini and drove around to explore a bit. Eventually, I ended up at the campground and got a campsite and took a nap. When I awoke in mid afternoon, Ifelt a bit better and decided to go for a walk through one of the gorges.

This turned out to be a great idea and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Iended up having about a half hour to myself at a beautiful pool at the head of one of the gorges here. It was a lovely spot and I spent a while reflecting on my mood. I finally decided that the anxiety stems from the fact that I am a bit behind schedule and am really starting to feel a time crunch. I still have the Kimberelys, the Top End, and the Center to experience before I have to be back in Sydney in mid July. Thats a ton of area to cover and Iam feeling the time crunch.

I hope this can be solved fairly easily by playing a bit of catch up. I had planned to spend several days here and then another night or two between here and the Broome Bird Observatory. Since there are no crucial birds, birds I can't get elsewhere, Ihave decided that I am going to skip a few stops and head to Broome tomorrow. I won't make it all the way tomorrow but I will get close and arrive on Friday. I think that by sacrificing a few places, that will help to relieve my anxiety and allow me to enjoy the next two and a half months a lot more. It is a bit disapointing, but I can't see everything as I well know. This will just add another item to my list of excuses to come back in the near future.
