Scarlet Robin - Kanga Walk, Sterling Ranges National Park, Western Australia

Today was one of those days whenI didn't seem to have much energy or desire to do much. Not sure why, maybe it had something to do with yet another overcast morning. In any case, between the lack of good light and my in ablity to find motivation, Ihad another lazy morning and then headed off to explore a bit of this park. I didn't have any real plans but sort of just drove along, stopping occasionally to check out areas.

By midafternoon, I had found my way to the Sterling Ranges Retreat, a caravan park just outside the norothern park boundary. I had been told by several friends that i should stay there as it had goodo birding locally and was walking distance from the park. On their recomendations, I checked in for the next two nights. Turns out there are a fair amount of birds in the area and several nice walks as well. This evening I managed to photograph two species of robins, the Scarlet Robin and the Western Yellow Robin. I didn't have photos on either of these species so I was pleased to have something in my files now. I wasn't totally satisfied with the Western YellowRobin shots so hopefully I can improve on them in the next few days.
