Once again, I was up at sunrise in search of the Scarlet-chested Parrots and once again, I failed. I just can't seem to find these birds and they were seen here fairly recently. Oh well, I am going to try again one last time tomorrow morning with Peter Waanders, a local bird guide who has seen them on several occasions.
I spent the afternoon exploring the local area and headed out to Stockyard Plains where I hoped to see some ducks. Sure enough, there were tons of waterfowl on the lakes but they were all very skittish and went to the other side of the lake when Iapproached. Even sitting under some camo cloth for an hour didn't encourage them to return to within a reasonable distance. Despite not being able to photograph any of them, it was still nice to see the area and the huge number of waterfowl.
