I ended up taking the day off as Ifind I do need a break every once in a while. So mostly today was relaxing and moving. I ended up spending some time sitting on a rock at Two Peoples Bay enjoying the beautiful turquoise blue water and pure white sand beach, at least until a rainstorm ran me back into the car. Then Ispent a bit of time exploring Albany. I think my great decision for the day was to call it quits on trying to photograph the Noisy Scrub-bird. Sure, I would have loved to photograph all three of the skulkers of the southwest, but it is hard to be disapointed when I have shots of two races of the whipbird and outstanding stuff of the bristlebird. So Igave it up and headed inland.
My hope was to spend the afternoon at a small national park between Albany and the Sterling Ranges, Porongorup National Park. However, as I arrived there, there were signs everywhere and gates closed saying the park was closed due to a recent wildfire. It obviously had burned recently but none the less, Iwas disappointed. Not to worry, I headed on to the Sterling Ranges where I will be spending the next few days. A small walk around the campground proved to be rather productive so I have high hopes for the next few days.
