Last night I ended up staying in a roadside campground just short of Uluru and this morning I arrived along with a whole crowd of other people. What can I say, its my last official stop for the year and it is the single biggest nature oriented tourist attraction in Australia. I find it a bit ironic after a year traveling alone and for much of it in remote areas. On the other hand though, it is quite iconic and Ifeel it a fitting way to conclude my travels.
This afternoon and evening I focused on getting my bearings since I will be here for the next few days. After a trip through town to pick up a map I headed into the park and drove around Uluru and then out to the Kata Tjuta for sunset. I picked out a few vantage points for both places that Iwanted to photograph from and feel like I have a plan for the next few days. Sunset was quite beautiful as expected and I am looking forward to further exploring it in the next few days.
