Most of today was spent driving the 600km west of Sydney to the small town of Lake Cargelligo. As I have mentioned previously, I have joined Nevil Lazarus on a trip to the region for his business and a bunch of birding. Lake Cargelligo is a small Australian country town of about 1,300 people situated on Lake Cargelligo. Ididn't get to see much of the town since we arrived late after a day of driving and birding.
On our way west we saw a whole lot of birds, 46 in total, many of which were new to me. I passed the century mark for my trip with a Superb Parrot, a truly spectacular bird. Didn't get a lot of photographs overall but had a few chances at some new birds like the above Apostlebird. It is a striking bird once you get a good look at it but can look like a chunky blackbird at first glance.
It was beautiful country all along and really my first opportunity to see the pasture lands of cattle and sheep and the countryside. It really is a beautiful country and makes me even more excited to explore the massive country.
