So much for leaving today. I woke up early this morning, ready to hit the road early after a quick hike part of the way down teh mountain and I had a dead battery. The car still wouldn't start after trying to jump it with two different cars and jumper cables and two different jumper battery packs. These large diesel engines sure take a lot of power to get going. I finally got the front desk to call RACQ (a roadside emergency service, like AAA in the US) and it was going to cost almost $200 for them to come up to see what was wrong. Instead of fronting the money right away, O'Reilley's was kind enough to allow me to hook my battery up to a charger in their maintanence shed overnight to get a full charge. This means I am spending $4.50 for another night of camping, rather than the $200 for RACQ to come get me. If it still doesn't work tomorrow, then I guess I will just pay the $200 and get on my way.
In the meantime, I had a relaxing day sitting around and doing some reading. I had a nice nap in the early afternoon and then tried to get out and photograph a bit in the afternoon. However, since I had other things on my mind, I wasn't really into it and didn't get any images worth mentioning except for the above image of a Torresian Crow in the campground. Early to bed and hopefully the car will start when I pick up my battery just before noon tomorrow.
