I suppose arriving in a rainforest in the rain is rather appropriate. This evening, I finally arrived in Lamington National Park, just across the border into Queensland. As of now, I plan to spend several days here as the area is world famous for its birds and other subtropical rainforest life. The O'Reilley's Rainforest Guesthouse is well known but other than that I don't know much. I arrived under the cover of darkness and in the rain and simply drove into the campground and found a spot to park. Iwill learn more in the morning and do a bit of exploring.
I mentioned yesterday that I was surprised and thrilled to have Spiny-cheeked Honeyeaters pose for me yesterday while I was photographing the thornbills. Since I never got the camera out today here is the image of the Spiny-cheeked from yesterday. You have to love that blue eye and pink bill.
