Eastern Grey Kangaroo - Camp Blackman, Warrumbungles National Park, New South Wales

It was a month ago today that I got on a plane to head to Australia. I can hardly believe that is has been a month already. It has been a great month as the time has gone so quickly. For the most part things have gone well. There have been a few bumps along the road but I have been very fortunate so far. Ihave eleven more months and in my opinion, they are only going to improve as I begin to explore more of this amazingly diverse country.

Today was a nice day, though not spectacular in the birding realm. After a bit of a frustrating morning photographing. Well, it wasn't frustrating at the time but after looking at the images this evening it has been declared rather unproductive. Idid walk away with this image of a roo that I like however.

Late morning found me climbing Split Rock, one of the local rock formations. It was a very nice hike, a bit steep at times, but it was great to get out and wander through a range of habitats. Saw a handful of nice birds but nothing new or out of the ordinary. Tomorrow, Iam going to go on another hike, taking a break from the bird photography and photograph this beautiful landscape. Look for more of that tomorrow.
