It was sure great to see the sun today, even if only for a brief period. I was finally able to get out with my camera a bit and walked away with some decent images. However, I still don't have the images I came for so I think I am going to stay at least one more night, if not two. We will just have to see.
I spent most of the day on the local trails around here, including almost an hour to myself on the Tree Top walk in the canopy where I had a decent chance to photograph a number of the canopy birds. After that, Ispent some time looking for the Albert's Lyrebird and Southern Logrunner along the border track. Saw the Logrunner but no luck on the Lyrebird however others did see one late this afternoon. Just have to give it another shot in the morning.
Probably the highlight of the day was not even bird related. While up on the Tree Top walk, I climbed up to a 25 and 30 meter high platform and when I arrived up top, I was looking through the canopy and down into the valley where a magnificent rainbow pretty much filled the valley. It was quite spectacular and of course I didn't have the right lens to photograph it. It was still one of the most gorgeous rainbows I have seen.
