Australian Bustard - Strzlecki Track, South Australia
|
|
Since I didn't see the whitefaces yesterday until early evening I didn't make it far up the track. I had planned to camp at Montecollina Bore but ended up well short of there. Iarrived at the bore about mid morning today with a migraine so I ended up spending most of the day sleeping in the back of the truck trying to get rid of it. I did spend a few minutes wandering around the bore and saw lots of Little Corellas as well as a few sandpipers and lots of rabbits. Eyrean Grasswrens have been seen here but since Iwasn't feeling too great and I had seen them before I didn't search very hard. By about mid afternoon I was feeling much better and decided to move on. The rest of the days drive was pretty uneventful and I saw hardly anyone along the way. The desert can be quite a lonely place and I am ready to get out of it. |
