I was up early this morning and decided to take a nice meandering drive through the countryside to Barrington Tops National Park where Iam going to give the Rufous Scrub-bird one last shot. The drive was nice but the biggest surprise for the day, or month, was the fact that whenI got up into the mountains there was snow on the ground. I couldn't quite believe it. I knew it was cold, but snow? Listening to the radio later I learned that this was the first time that southern Queensland (north of me a good ways) had had snow in November since World War II. I drove around the park to get my bearings and scout for the next few days as I headed out after the scrub-birds. |
