Painted Honeyeater - Compartment 5, Binya State Forest, New South Wales

My target bird this morning in Binya State Forest was the Speckled Warbler. I have seen this small, ground feeding bird one other time in the Warrumbungles back in August but so far I don't have any photos. Well, after a morning wanderin around the forest, I still am without any photos. I did see several of the birds but I was never able to get close enough to photograph them. They never seemed to flush, but just consistently worked away from me while feeding. Oh well, in the process I did manage to get some more shots of various species of thornbills so it wasn't a totaly unproductive morning.

After leaving Binya, I headed south to the Victoria border but first stopped at Wonga Wetlands in Albury. My original plan ocalled for me to stop and spend an afternoon and morning here but after walking around the wetlands, I decided to push on. The wetlands themselves are quite nice and apparenlty have won some awards. However, as a place for photography it is not ideal so I decided to push on to Chiltern where I arrived just before dark.
