For the next few days I will be visiting several spots just to the east of Melbourne with the hopes of picking up a few birds that I have missed so far. Many birds that are found up and down the east coast are at the edge of their range at this point so it will be my last opportunity to pick up a few birds that have avoided me thus far. I also plan to visit a few of the hotspots in this area.
Today Itook it easy as it was my first day back photographing after my holiday. I am now realizing it is probably going to take me a while to get back into it. I spent most of the day working around the campsite I am staying at in Bunyip State Forest but really didn't have much success at anything. I could hear a lot of birds in the area including several Superb Lyrebirds but photographically speaking it was a bust. This evening I went to a spot where White-throated Nightjars were seen recently but once again, I could hear them but didn't manage to set my eyes on them.
Iguess since I havne't had much luck photographing I will post some photos from the past few weeks. Ihope you enjoy them.
