Yesterday I dropped my girlfriend off at the airport after a fantastic three week holiday. We divided our time between Victoria and Tasmania and loved both places. Iwon't go into detail here as there is a lot to tell and I will be revisiting many of the locations in the upcoming month and a half anyway. We started by exploring Wilson's Promotory and the coast to the east of Melbourne for a few days until we caught the ferry to Tasmania on Christmas Eve. For the next week or so, we toured Tassie in a counter clockwise direction seeing lots of beautiful coastline, birds, and especially mammals. We managed to see both species of quoll as well as a wild Tasmania Devil, so we were both pleased. After returning to the mainland just after the start of the new year, we explored the western part of Victoria including Great Ocean Road, Little Desert National Park, and Grampians National Park. Once again, beautiful scenery and great wildlifem including my first Koalas, were the highlights.
We had a great time together and it was great to see a familiar face from home. I hope everyone had a great holiday season as well. I am looking forward to getting back into the birds and photography but it may take me a few days to really get back into it. In the meantime, I will try and post a few images from our trip.
