After a fairly restless night with my neighbor campers partying until after 2:00 last night, I still managed to drag my self out of bed shortly after 5:00 and head off to try and photograph Rufous Bristlebirds. Ihad seen these birds before but couldn't get them on a natural perch and was shooting in poor lighting so hoped this time Icould do better. When I arrived, I wasn't very hopeful but before too long I had located two birds and managed to get some decent photographs of them. I only had a few minutes as by about 7:30 they had disappeared into the heath.
After a nice nap, Iheaded east towards Melbourne only to learn that my plans for a trip to the famous Werribee Treatment Plan for tomorrow was pushed back until Wednesday. Fortunately, Ihadn't gone far so I simply returned to the area inland of Airey's Inlet and found a different campsite where I spent quite a relaxing afternoon. Tomorrow Iwill try again to get better bristlebird photos before getting ready for my trip to the treatment plant on Wednesday.
