Today was another one of those days when things just didn't seem to go as I planned. I started out early to see if I could track down a Red-browed Treecreeper or Spotted Quail-Thrush, two birds I have seen but not photographed. I got onto the trail at a decent hour but the wind was so strong that it was pretty much useless. With every tree branch in motion, it was nearly impossible to see the birds I was looking for and even if I did, the branches were moving so much that it would make photographing them difficult. So, I gave it up. They weren't exactly birds I had to have and sinceconditions weren't great, I decided to move on.
I also heard back today from Chris Coleborn who was willing to help me see a Plains-wanderer at Terrick Terrick National Park north of Bendigo on Friday. Knowing that and with several other birds in the Terricks that I would like to photograph, I decided to head north tomorrow. In the meantime I spent the afternoon exploring some of the local scenic parks and trying to hide from the heat.
