Since I didn't get back to camp until well after midnight and the forecast called for very heavy rains I slept in this morning. The forecast was correct, lots of rain and even some pretty heavy showers unlike the last few days when we have been having small showers off and on. I am not sure how long this is supposed to last but I can hardly complain when the land needs the water so desperately. It also can give me a nice break to do other things and over the past week I have done a lot of reading.
Having seen and photographed the Plains-wanderer as well as a few other birds, my goals for Terrick Terrick were complete so I headed off midmorning during a break in the rain. Over the next few days I will be photographing in and around the Grampians. This area was heavily effected by bushfire this time last year so it should be quite an interesting place to photograph. There are a few birds that I will photograph if I see them, but most of my work here will be landscapes and such. It also will depend on the weather.
When I arrived in the late afternoon, I found a campsite and then went for a drive in the rain to try and do some scouting for the next few days. I don't know how long the rain is supposed to last and I don't mind the rain so much as long as their isn't a lot of wind but I am not too hopeful. We will just have to wait and see tomorrow.
