I spent most of the day leisurely making my way towards Griffith, stopping several times along the way. By late afternoon Iarrived in Griffith and met up with a local photograper, Dave Webb who had offered to take me out to photograoph Australian Pratincoles on the nest. These birds were quite confiding as long as we stayed in the car. I was pleased to get this image but Iwould have preferred a bit of a lower angle but that was impossible without further disturbing the birds. It was amazing how the nests which were really just depressions in the ground were nearly invisible. The eggs were beautifully camoflauged.
Aftewards, Dave showed me around town and a few other spots where we saw lots of birds including the beautiful Superb Parrot but we didn't get any more photos. Tomorrow we will try a few other places and hopefully get some more images.
