Barking Owl - Karumba, Queensland
|
|
Today was just one of those days when nothing seems to go right. I woke up this morning with the goal of photographing the Carpentarian Grasswren but the high winds soon proved that to be an impossible task. I decided to head back towards Mt. Isa and find a nice campsite where I could photograph this evening and in the morning before I head south to continue my travels through Outback Queensland. I had seen a fair amount of birds on my way into the site where I saw the Dusky Grasswren yesterday so I decided to make my way there. After a brief stop in town to resupply and get ready for the drive tomorrow Iheaded out to the Duchess Road site. By now it was midday and very hot since the wind had died away for the most part. I spent most of the afternoon sitting under a tree reading and trying to stay cool. I had planned to photograph in the evening but as I said, nothing seemed to wrk very well today so I just gave up and tried to relax. After a nice dinner I decided to call it a night and see what tomorow brings. |
