The Strzlecki Track officially runs from Lyndhurst in the south to Innamincka in the north, but I had decided to take a different route and head east at Merty Merty Station about 150 kilometers south of Innamincka. This brought me to Cameron Corner which is literally the corner of South Australia, Queensland, and NewSouth Wales. There is a small pub on the Queensland side of things and I ended up spending a good chunk of time that morning having breakfast and talking with the folks running it. After spending several days in the desert hardly seeing a person, it was great to spend some time with friendly people willing to talk. By about noon I decided Ishould get back on the road and headed into New South Wales and Sturt National Park. I spent most of the afternoon driving the various tracks in the park seeing the sights and really enjoying the area. Here there was a bit more elevation change and some beautiful overlooks and vistas. I ended up camped at a nice waterhole where another couple from New South Wales were camped. The evening was spent chatting with them and once again, it was a great pleasure to spend some time with such friendly and good people.
